International concept competition

for life science design

For the first time the Life Science Agency has announced an international concept competition for life sciences and design: the ‘life science design award: concepts 2005’.

The competition acknowledges the high potential of the life sciences and with its Euro 20,000 prize-money it is aimed at companies and designers as well as researchers and scientists from the fields of ergonomics and medical technology, micro- and nanotechnology, cell biology and genetics as well as bionics and bioinformatics. The competition is organised by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen in Essen.

The competition promotes the innovative power of companies and designers by bringing them together with scientists and inviting them to go beyond the borders of their disciplines to approach each other in order to develop new concepts for the field of life sciences. Ideas can be submitted to the competition until 8 August 2005.

The best ten concepts will be selected by an international jury in mid-August and presented to the public at the MEDICA in Düsseldorf from 16 to 19 November 2005.
